· your English voice

We can consciously harness the benefits of the musical qualities of the English language and the voice to create greater fluency

A course that can be tailored and structured for all levels from B1 to C2.

Syllable-timed & Stress-timed languages

Spanish is a syllable-timed language, meaning that much of the rhythm of the spoken language depends on the division of the sentence into the number of syllables that constitute the phrases and words that we are using.

In contrast, English is a stress-timed (or stress-based timed) language, which means that the rhythm and melodic qualities of a native English speaker’s speech stem from the stress and the intonation of the language, phrases and sentences associated with the ideas and the meaning that we are communicating.

The rhythmic and musical qualities of the English language shape pronunciation, group ideas and allow us to communicate with efficiency the meaning of our words. For native speakers, a large proportion of what we say is communicated and understood without our listeners having to consciously decode or process the bulk of the information. This course helps learners develop these native speaker communication skills.
